Arrival to Palermo Airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel and depart to Monreale, to admire the Norman Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics and the cloister of the Benedictines monastery with Moorish architecture. Lunch at restaurant. We will then visit Palermo, one of the richest towns in the island for history and art. During the guided walking tour in the historical centre we will admire the Cathedral, the Palazzo dei Normanni with its “Palatina” Chapel, the “Quattro Canti”, the Martorana Church and the Pretoria Square, adorned with statues. Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at your hotel and depart to the ancient town of Segesta, where we will visit the quite well preserved Greek Theatre and the magnificent Doric Temple, dating from the last 30 years of the 5th century. We will drive then to the medieval town of Erice, set on the top of Mount Erice, offering a charming panorama of Aegadian Islands and the coast of Trapani. Lunch at restaurant. In the afternoon, during the walking tour among the small streets of the town, we will visit the Cathedral with its Campanile (bell tower) and admire the suggestive 12th century Norman Castle. Walking through the town’s ancient streets, you will have the chance to stop in one of the famous pastry shops, to taste the typical marzipan candies and other local delicacies like almond and pistachio pastries. Accommodation at hotel in Trapani area and overnight.

Breakfast at your hotel and depart to Marsala, enjoying a panoramic tour of the salt pans and windmills. In Marsala, known all-over the world for the production of its dessert wine, you will be charmed by its historical centre with its Cathedral, the Church and the Fountain of Purgatorio, the Palazzo VII Aprile. After the visit, you may also visit Mothia, the ancient Phoenician colony, situated just in the centre of the Stagnone Lagoon. Lunch at restaurant or in a farm-house. In the afternoon, we will visit the Archaeological Park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area with its impressive Temples and Acropolis. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at hotel in Agrigento area.

Breakfast at your hotel. Among the rests of the ancient Akragas, dipped in a splendid naturalistic background with almond trees and centenary olive trees, we will visit one of the main archaeological sites in the Mediterranean: the Valley of the Temples. The site includes ten well-preserved Doric temples such as the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Heracles and the Temple of Concordia. Lunch at restaurant. We will then visit Luigi Pirandello’s native house. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, you will have the chance to make a panoramic by-night external tour of the Valley of the Temples. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Breakfast at hotel and depart to Cefalù, charming medieval town on the Northern coast. Take a stroll through the city centre and down main street to reach the medieval wash-house built in the rock and the breathtaking Norman Cathedral with its dazzling mosaics. Lunch at restaurant or in a farm-house. In the afternoon we will visit Castelbuono, a typical medieval village on the slopes of the Madonie Mountains. Walking through the typical alleys of the village, you will admire the Church of St. Anne, Patron Saint of the town, with the bell tower next to the Church of “Matrice Vecchia”. It will be a good occasion to stop at a renowned pastry shop to taste typical products. Proceed to Palermo and accommodation at hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at hotel. We will then start a fantastic walking tour to discover the typical street food of the city of Palermo: sfincione, panelle, arancine, pane con la milza etc.. Starting from Piazza Verdi, through the markets and the quartiers of the historical centre (Mercato del Capo, Vucciria and Piazza San Domenico, ending at the Cathedral), you will enjoy a unique experience, learning the legends, popular stories and secrets about every meal. The tour will end with a light lunch, including the tasting of Sicilian cannolo or cassata. In the afternoon, we will make an excursion to Monte Pellegrino, where you will be astonished by the suggestive view of the Gulf of Palermo. Then, you will have the chance to visit the Sanctuary of Saint Rosalia, the patron Saint of the city. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
