Full Itinerary

Arrival to Palermo and transfer to the city centre. Visit of the historical centre: the Cathedral, the “Palatina” Chapel, the “Quattro Canti”, the Opera House, the Pretoria Square. Lunch at restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to Monreale to admire the Norman Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics and the cloister of the Benedictines monastery with Moorish architecture. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at hotel.

Breakfast at your hotel and depart to the ancient town of Segesta, standing on a vast plateau in a naturally well defended position. Here you will visit the quite well preserved Greek Theatre and the magnificent Doric Temple, dating from the last 30 years of the 5th century. We will drive then to the medieval town of Erice, set on the top of Mount Erice, offering a charming panorama of Aegadian Islands and the coast of Trapani. Lunch at restaurant or in a farm house. In the afternoon, enjoy a pleasant walking tour among the small streets of the town. You may visit the Duomo with its Campanile (bell tower) and admire the suggestive 12th century Norman Castle. Stop in one of the famous pastry shops, to taste the typical almond sweets and liquor. Accommodation at hotel in Trapani area and overnight.

After breakfast at your hotel we will embark to Mothia, the ancient Phoenician colony, situated just in the centre of the Stagnone Lagoon. We will then visit Marsala, famous all-over the world not only for the production of its dessert wine, but also for its salt pans and windmills and its museum of salt. Stop in a renowned winery for wine tasting and for a light lunch with local specialties. We will then proceed to Selinunte, to visit the largest Archaeological Park in the Mediterranean area. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at hotel in Agrigento area.

After breakfast at your hotel, we will discover the ancient Akragas. During the visit of the Valley of the Temples, you will admire the Temple of Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus, Castor & Pollux, which represent the most beautiful example of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. Lunch at restaurant. We will then depart to Cefalù, charming medieval town on the Northern coast, offering several cultural and historical sites: the Ancient Roman Bath, the Mandralisca Museum and the wonderful Cathedral, one of the most beautiful Sicilian churches of Norman period. Proceed to Palermo, accommodation, dinner and overnight at hotel.
